PQF Group launches specialised quarantine fumigation services for containerised goods in Belgium

Antwerp, 1 December 2025 - With the establishment of PQF Group (Port Quarantine Fumigations), Belgium gains a new specialised provider of quarantine fumigation services for containerised goods and international phytosanitary treatments. PQF Group focuses exclusively on fumigation activities governed by strict international regulations, including BMSB treatments, wood-log fumigations, and phytosanitary export procedures.

PQF Group is the result of the restructuring of container-related fumigation activities previously performed by Descroes. All employees and their operational expertise have transitioned smoothly into the new organisation, ensuring uninterrupted customer relationships, continuity, and compliance.

Specialised expertise for a regulated logistics environment

PQF Group focuses entirely on fumigation activities within the logistics chain, a field where strict regulation, international compliance and precise procedures are essential. By placing these activities in a dedicated entity, customers such as shipping lines, terminals, freight forwarders, competent authorities and exporters gain one clear and specialised point of contact.

Regular pest control and gas measurement services previously performed by Descroes have been integrated into EWS Group Belgium. PQF Group is exclusively dedicated to containerised quarantine fumigations.

Nationwide service enabled by a strong network

Although Antwerp serves as the central operational hub, PQF Group can offer a seamlessly connected nationwide service thanks to access to an extensive inland terminal network. PQF Group operates fully neutral and autonomous in the market, providing one reliable and compliant service platform for all container-related fumigation treatments across Belgium.

“With PQF Group, we have created an entity that can fully focus on this highly specialised niche, enabling us to guide customers more effectively through their regulated treatment requirements,” says Thomas Vermeerbergen, Country Manager PQF Group. “Our focus on quarantine fumigations allows us to deliver a clear, reliable and compliant service platform.”

“In a logistics chain where time pressure, regulatory obligations and quality standards intersect, specialised capacity is essential,” says Dirk Vanhoutteghem, Director Gosselin Group. “Through our inland terminal network, we support operational continuity, while PQF Group provides its services independently and neutrally.”

Uninterrupted continuation of services

All existing contracts and commitments of Descroes remain fully in effect. The familiar team members will continue to be involved in delivering services within EWS Group Belgium and PQF Group. The combined expertise and infrastructure also enable further investment in modern facilities and operating systems that align with tightening European regulatory requirements.

Three Gosselin Teams at the Young Forward Cup

With no fewer than three teams (FC Gossy, FC Antwerp, and FC Giants), Gosselin was well represented at the recent Young Forward Cup. What stood out was the great mix of blue-collar and white-collar workers from different departments, who all gave their best both on and off the field.
